The Path to the Divine Through Art

About

SohAnika Arts is a New Jersey–based performing arts initiative rooted in the belief that art is a path to the divine. We celebrate the richness of Indian classical and contemporary dance, music, and theatre, while nurturing a space where tradition meets innovation

Founded by Radhika Damle Kale in the USA and Shashiprabha Kale in India, SohAnika Arts brings together passionate performers, storytellers, and cultural seekers through soulful stage experiences and collaborative expression

Our mission is to create a vibrant artistic community — one that unites the immense local talent often working in silos, and fosters creative partnerships for future flagship productions.

We welcome artists of all ages, backgrounds, genders, and ethnicities, bound by a shared devotion to art and a deep-rooted passion for performance.

Dance. Drama. Music. Devotion.

Radhika Damle Kale

Artistic Founder | Bridging Classical Roots & Modern Expression

Radhika Damle Kale is a classically trained Kathak dancer, Indian classical vocalist, multidisciplinary creator, and clinical research professional. Her Kathak journey has been shaped by revered Gurus — Smt. Asha Joglekar, Archana Joglekar, Gauri Jog, and Pallavi Degwekar Shaikh — and her vocal foundation comes from Vyas Sangeet Vidya Mandir (Mumbai) and the Shankar Mahadevan Academy. She also participated in a vocal workshop led by renowned singer Kavita Krishnamurthy, gaining valuable insights and performance experience under her guidance.

She has choreographed and performed across India and the U.S., including award-winning Kathak showcases and community productions in Chicago and New Jersey. Radhika also leads fusion music collaborations through MusikGully and brings a cinematic touch to her work with filmmaking studies from NYFA and acting workshops at Princeton Adult School.

With over 18 years of experience in clinical research and regulatory strategy, she blends analytical rigor with artistic intuition. Her lived experience as a caregiver and advocate within the neurodivergent community brings deep empathy and inclusivity to her work. Through SohAnika Arts, she envisions building an inclusive platform that unites diverse voices, nurtures cultural expression, and makes art a shared journey of healing, connection, and belonging.

Shashiprabha Kale

Creative Mentor | Champion of Women's Voices & Cultural Legacy

Shashiprabha Kale is a visionary cultural curator, writer, and mentor whose deep-rooted work in Indian performing arts has empowered hundreds of artists over the past several decades. As the founding creative mind behind SohAnika Arts in Amravati, Maharashtra, she has led numerous productions that celebrate identity, womanhood, and tradition — most notably Sakhee Antarang, a signature women-centric event series staged across major cities in Maharashtra.

Her artistic journey has been guided by training and mentorship under legendary theatre stalwarts like Amol Palekar, Satyadev Dubey, and Jaydev Hattangdi, bringing dramatic nuance and authenticity to every production she curates. She has participated in the prestigious Maharashtra Rajya Natya Spardha, where her team received awards for outstanding performance and direction.

A prolific collaborator, Shashiprabha has worked with celebrated Marathi vocalists such as Dhanashree Deshpande, winner of a leading Marathi singing reality show, to bring Sakhee Antarang to life through rich musical storytelling.

Her cultural influence extends globally through participation in Indian cultural tours across Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand, organized by the International Center for Cultural Studies (ICCS), where she represented traditional and contemporary Indian narratives with grace.

As a creative director, she has consistently been recognized in regional media for her contributions to the arts — not only for her performances but also for her role as a tireless organizer and cultural ambassador.

Now joining forces with SohAnika Arts in the U.S., Shashiprabha continues to nurture talent, design inclusive programs, and inspire the next generation of artists through her storytelling wisdom, theatrical mastery, and heartfelt mentorship.
